Bio
Gerald Sheehan is Operations Manager – Deep Panuke. Responsible Recycling of the Deep Panuke natural gas facility.
A Professional Engineer, with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Dalhousie University in 2003, he has had a diverse career in Oil and Gas Operations in Offshore Canada. He started his career with Mobil Canada on the Sable Offshore Energy Project, starting in Procurement and Maintenance, then moving to Facilities Engineering and Asset Integrity. He worked for EnCana Corporation in the concept design stages of Deep Panuke. Gerald then joined the Canadian Offshore energy regulatory for 8 years, as an Advisor for Facilities and Productions Operation, and was the Alternate Chief Safety Officer for the Regulator. On behalf of the governments, he participated in the ISO/CSA Offshore Structures subcommittee, IOGP working groups, as well as R&D program oversight for Canadian Pipelines. He was an active member in developing offshore training standards and offshore Safe Lifting Practices. Gerald has spent the last 9 years with SBM Offshore, on the Deep Panuke Project, Canada’s first offshore sour gas production project. He developed the Asset Integrity program for Deep Panuke, lead the Engineering team team at Deep Panuke, then managed the Canadian unit as Operations Manager and Decommissioning Manager. He now manages the Responsible Recycling project. Gerald participates in a variety of volunteer organizations, including Coaching Minor Hockey, Archery and is an active participant a conservation organization, the Canadian Wild Turkey Federation.
