John C. Poole began his career over 27 years ago as an Instrumentation and Electronics (I&E) contractor, servicing most of the operating companies in the Gulf of Mexico. Later, as a consultant, he was instrumental in helping companies develop and implement Safety and Environmental Management Systems (SEMS) in response to evolving regulations. Recently, John spent six years managing HSE concerns for a gulf operator with over 525 facilities and was a key member of the first U.S. based team to establish drilling operations in Mexico, after their recent energy regulation reforms. John joined EnVen Energy Corporation in 2020 as the Manager of Health, Safety and Environmental. During that time, his team has been instrumental in managing all efforts related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
John holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from Northwestern State University, and he is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). His passion when not at work is trying to keep up with his sons (twins) and enjoying a cigar when the opportunity presents itself.
