Caitlin Papso is a Wells Engineer (Drilling Engineer) for the Ursa-Princess subsea tieback field in the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico. She joined Shell in New Orleans after graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in Petroleum Engineering in 2014. She worked as a Drilling Engineer and Well Interventions Engineer for Shell’s TLP assets before transitioning into multiple field-based positions within Shell’s floater fleet. She worked as a Drilling Supervisor on both the Noble Globetrotter 1 and Transocean Deepwater Pontus – Shell’s Gen6 and Gen7 drill ships respectively. Although Operations is her preferred work environment, she has been in front-end design in Shell’s New Orleans office for ~2 years. She will be transitioning to a new drilling position for Shell in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in Q1 2020.
