Jim Beresford is Equinor’s Operated Licence Asset Manager and the Technical Manager of the Bay du Nord Development Project. Jim is based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada where his focus is to represent and mature Equinor’s interest in operated licences and safely advance the Bay du Nord Project towards a potential development.
Jim has 22 years of industry experience - he began his career in the oil and gas industry in Alberta, Canada. Over the last two decades he has been working in offshore Newfoundland, building expertise in harsh environment operations. The last 12 years Jim’s primary focus has been leading teams within Equinor to open up, explore, and commercialize the remote and deepwater Flemish Pass basin. Over his career, Jim also had assignments in the Gulf of Mexico, US, Aberdeen, Scotland and Norway.
Jim joined Equinor in 2007 and has a Bachelor of Mining Engineering Degree from the Technical University of Nova Scotia and is a licensed professional engineer.
