Gerhard Visser is a mechanical engineer with more than 23 years of experience in the oil & gas industry. Started his career with SASOL III in South Africa as a mechanical maintenance engineer in the Coal to Liquids Refinery in Secunda South Africa and work for SASOL 8 years with the last position held as a Divisional Maintenance Engineer.

Gerhard Visser is a mechanical engineer with more than 23 years of experience in the oil & gas industry. Started his career with SASOL III in South Africa as a mechanical maintenance engineer in the Coal to Liquids Refinery in Secunda South Africa and work for SASOL 8 years with the last position held as a Divisional Maintenance Engineer.
He joined Mossgas (PetroSA) gas to liquids Refinery project in 1990 as the Refinery Divisional Maintenance engineer. During construction of the GTL refinery he was responsible for the mechanical completion and commissioning of the refinery units from a client’s perspective. After successful commissioning and start-up of the refinery he became the Maintenance Engineer for the refinery units, oil movement and storage and the ship loading facilities offshore (SBM and CBM). He worked for Mossgas of 12 years.
In 2002 he Joined SBM in Monaco as Operations Manager for the FPSO Xikomba project in Dubai. He was responsible for setting up the operations for the FPSO in Angola. He was responsible for operational input into the design and construction of the FPSO. He was part of the project team during construction to assist with mechanical completions and commissioning of the FPSO with the operating crew, before taking up the in country operations managers roll in Angola, where he was responsible for the day to day operation of the FPSO for ExxonMobil.
2006 SBM promoted him to Shore Base Manager in Equatorial Guinea to manage the FPSO Serpentina for ExxonMobile. He managed the operation till 2008 and was then seconded to a new FPSO project in Dubai, responsible for the operational input in the design, mechanical completion and commissioning with the operations crew (assisting the project team). He followed the FPSO to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil as Technical Manager.
He left SBM at the end of 2010 and joined Wison in Houston. He was responsible for setting up a new operations department to operate LNG barge based liquefaction and regasification facilities. After setting up the infrastructure of the operations he took on a Project Manager role for two LNG Regasification facilities for offshore India and Ghana.
He joined Williams in 2014 as Manager of Offshore operations for the deepwater floating facilities owned by Williams – Devils Tower and Gulfstar One. He is part of the core Gulfstar development team actively involved in the development of a new Gulfstar facilities.
