Equinor, in collaboration with leading technology companies, has initiated a study to test the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies for offshore operations. Testing the hypothesis ‘if algorithms can drive cars, algorithms can operate oil & gas production operations’, the proposed project is a proof-of concept/pilot type of activity to develop algorithms for autonomous process control. This presentation will discuss the approach taken, present findings from first phase of the work, and lay out a path forward.
