The successful development of the Jack and St. Malo fields provides Chevron with the opportunity to further capitalize on its strategic position in the Walker Ridge area. The Waterflood Project for the St. Malo field has evaluated an opportunity to add incremental Lower Tertiary reserves and improve asset value by water flooding the reservoir. The St. Malo Waterflood Project will enhance recovery through the development and deployment of existing and new technology for the water injection system. The selected development concept for the St. Malo Waterflood Project utilizes the existing Jack / St. Malo (JSM) Floating Production Unit (FPU) capacity with an additional topsides module for seawater injection. The seawater injection module includes ultrafiltration, sulfate removal systems, deoxygenation and high-pressure injection pumps. Execution challenges include coordination of multiple offshore module lifts onto the FPU and significant integration activities.
