Funmilola (Funmi) Asa is a Systems Advisor in the Oil Products and Gas (OPG) Strategy & Business Performance group of Chevron based in Houston, Texas, USA. Prior to assuming this role, she was Leading Performance Advisor for Chevron Nigeria/Mid-Africa (NMA) Business Unit in Chevron International Exploration & Production (IEP) region supporting the deployment of the enterprise-wide Leading Performance business approach in the Business Unit where she also supported Digital innovation efforts. She was one of the inaugural set of scholars in the Chevron Digital Scholar program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She is a system thinker and very enthusiastic about value characterization and sharing insights.

In her over 15-year career with Chevron, Funmi has been in various roles in the Facilities Engineering function in addition to her latest Strategy role. Some of those include Early concept Engineering, Operations support Process Engineering, Assurance, Interface & Risk (AIR), Project Controls, Project Engineer, and Facilities Engineering Organizational Capability (FEOC). She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a certified Scaled Agile 5 Product Owner / Product Manager (PO/PM) and a Registered Engineer by the Council of Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria; a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Aston University Birmingham, UK; a Master of Science in Engineering and Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA in the System Design and Management program; and is currently undertaking a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) research program at the Alliance Manchester Business School, UK.
