Young-Chan (YC) Park is a Manager of Offshore Engineering at Williams and has 30 years of experience in the oil & gas industry. His experiences include EPC of floating systems and fixed platforms. He has more than 15 years of working with Williams and providing support to the Williams' capital project process, planning and staffing engineering resources in support of large capital projects, and support/execution of tactical offshore projects throughout the North American offshore region. YC worked as the hull & mooring engineering manager for Williams' Gulfstar One project and has ample experience with subsea tieback projects to Williams' Gulfstar One and Devil's Tower platforms.
Before Williams, YC worked with McDermott for four years; these years of experience are directly involved with the Spar hull structure and mooring design, model tests, design development, and detailed engineering and construction. And he also worked with DSME (Daewoo Shipbuilding Marine Engineering) for nine years. Nine years of experience are involved with technical bid preparation, cost estimation, FEED, and detailed engineering for various offshore projects, including fixed platforms, FPSOs, Semi., Spar, TLP, and Drilling Rigs.
YC holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from Inha University in Korea.
YC received the Awards of "Best Paper Award 2015" from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Coasts, Ports, Oceans and Rivers Institute (COPRI), OTC Technical Program Committee" and "The SNAME 2015 OTC Best Paper Award, 1st Runner Up", from the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME).
