Andrew J. Gauthier is an accomplished marine operations executive with more than 30 years of experience in tug and barge operations, vessel management, marine logistics, safety, regulatory compliance, and project execution. He currently serves as Director, Marine Operations for Crowley Tug and Barge, directing operations for Crowley Offshore Services and Crowley Puerto Rico Service fleets with a focus on safe, compliant, reliable, and cost-effective performance.
Andrew has managed complex marine projects and specialized towing operations, including sealift projects, dead-ship tows, Arctic and deep-sea towing, emergency tow planning, vessel reflagging, and implementation of safety management systems for new assets and operations.
Recognized for his focus on safety, compliance, customer service, and operational excellence, Andrew has served as Designated Person Ashore under the ISM Code and Alternate Company Security Officer under the ISPS Code. He has also contributed to the maritime industry through appointments to the National Towing Vessel Safety Advisory Committee and the Towing Vessel Safety Advisory Committee to the U.S. Coast Guard.
Andrew is a graduate of Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation and holds extensive maritime credentials, including Master of Towing Vessels, Third Mate, First Class Pilot upon the Great Lakes, and multiple navigation, safety, security, and environmental qualifications.
