He holds a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Nantes in France. He has more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, specializing in the development and execution of offshore and onshore projects. He joined BHP Petroleum in 2006 after a 12-year career at Technip. He is now part of Woodside Energy's major projects leadership team.

Stephan currently serves as Vice President for the Trion Project and is responsible for Mexico's first deepwater oil development. Appointed to this position in 2019, he was responsible for bringing the Trion Project to a final investment decision and is responsible for executing the project in accordance with the business plan.

Previously, he served as BHP Petroleum's Program Director for projects in Australia, based in Perth. His global experience includes holding senior leadership roles in the development and execution of operated and non-operated projects in the Gulf of Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, and Southeast Asia.

Stephan is considered one of the 100 most important leaders in Mexico's energy industry. He is married and has three children, and enjoys watching and playing
soccer.
