Bert is an industrial engineer with more than 30 years' experience in the maritime industry. He joined maritime recycling consultancy Sea2Cradle in 2021 as commercial director. Sea2Cradle helps owners to find the best solution for responsible recycling of their end-of-life maritime assets, and sees to it that this solution is executed in an effective, safe and environmentally sound manner.

Through his involvement in a large variety of projects Bert has gained in-depth knowledge of all aspects of planning, preparation and management of ship and offshore recycling, from yard selection and contracting to legal compliance, waste handling and proper execution of cleaning, decontamination and dismantling.
