Bio
Christopher (Chris) Green was born and raised in Houston, TX and graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the Texas A&M Maritime Academy in 1999. Chris began his career as the Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist at a Houston, Texas based shipping company shortly after graduation. In 2002 he decided to establish his own Environmental Health and Safety consulting company Green Shipbreaking Inc. (GSI) and moved to Laguna Vista, TX. GSI was awarded a contract with the US Maritime Administration (MARAD) for management and oversight of US ship recycling operations. From 2003 � 2013 GSI (in addition to the MARAD contract) provided consulting and environmental assessment/sampling services for Chevron Shipping Company, Crowley Petroleum Corporation, Foss Maritime, Lynntech Inc., Waller Marine Inc. During this time Chris managed over one-hundred eleven successful ship recycling operations. In April 2013 Chris was hired by International Shipbreaking Limited/EMR as the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager. From 2013 � 2016 Chris managed environmental health and safety compliance during eight ship recycling contracts, including the US Navy Aircraft Carriers USS Constellation (CV-64) and USS Ranger (CV-61). In October 2016 Chris was promoted to President of ISL and Regional Manager for EMR. Under Chris�s leadership ISL achieved EU Ship Recycling Regulation (SRR) compliance and has safely recycled the USS Independence (CV 62), USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63), three deep water drill ships and multiple other US Maritime Administration and US Navy vessels.
