Following five years of service as an engineer officer in the Army, Ryan joined BP in 2006 as a project engineer in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. Ryan transferred to the Gulf of Mexico in 2011 to focus on delivering subsea projects. In 2022 he became BP’s Gulf of Mexico Life Extension Project Manager.
Ryan has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington, a MSc in Project Management from the University of Alaska, and a MSc in Subsea Engineering from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. He is also a licensed civil engineer in the state of Alaska and a Project Management Professional.
