Bio
Christa Lawson is the Subsea Operations Manager for bp’s deep water assets in the Gulf of Mexico. In this role she is accountable for safe, efficient, reliable, and compliant operations and integrity of the subsea infrastructure and systems. She also leads a team of subsea operations engineers who support bp’s projects in the Western Hemisphere by providing subsea operations expertise and lessons input across subsea projects.
Christa has over 25 years of experience working for bp in a variety of operations and projects roles including; Area Operations Manager Na Kika/ Mad Dog, Subsea Operations bp Norway, and Subsea Project Delivery Manager Dorado. She has spent most of her career in operations and most enjoys working with both projects and ops teams to help each get a better understanding of reliability drivers and lessons learned that will improve value delivery.
She holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH.
She is married to a fellow Buckeye engineer and in her spare time enjoys travelling, home projects, and volunteer work.
