Mary Nash has had the privilege of working in the oil and gas industry for over 25 years and currently serves as the area production manager for bp’s Thunder Horse business unit in the Gulf of Mexico. She is accountable for safety, risk, emissions, production, and competitive business performance from the reservoir through to export.
Mary began her career as a field engineer with a subsea construction company, building gravity-based platforms and gained valuable experience in subsea projects: managing commercial diving, SURF, and pipeline projects in different basins such as the Gulf of Mexico, North Atlantic, Alaska, and North Sea.
The second half of Mary’s career focused on production and operations, with a particular emphasis on asset integrity and operations management. Since joining bp in 2011, Mary has worked in various roles and regions, including the Gulf of Mexico, Caspian Sea, West Africa, North Sea and their corporate headquarters in London.
Mary is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where she earned a degree in maritime systems engineering. When she's not working, Mary enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband are proud parents of two teenaged children, and they have a beloved fawny-yellow Labrador who is a treasured member of the family. Together, they enjoy cooking and entertaining, as well as outdoor activities, particularly anything in or on the water.
