Bio
Curtis Lohr is a subject matter expert and guest lecturer in safety leadership, risk management, team building, and leading others to gain expertise in oil and gas deepwater projects.

EXPERIENCE:
Curtis served 25+ years as Project Manager with Shell Oil Company. His most high profile accomplishment was with the Stones Project development in ultra-deepwater Gulf of Mexico. This project received the Platts Global Energy Award as the 2016 Engineering Project of the Year and the OTC Distinguished Achievement Award in 2018.

EXPERTISE:
PROJECT ADVISOR - Curtis has a proven record in leading Shell Oil Company’s diverse multi-discipline engineering teams in challenging and high profile deepwater projects including the Auger TLP, Bonga FPSO, Perdido Spar, and most recently the award winning Stones FPSO project.

GUEST LECTURER / SME - Curtis gives lectures on Shell’s world-class safety performance with the Stone’s project. He presented key aspects of the project at oil & gas industry conferences such as Offshore Technology Conference; Topside, Platforms & Hulls Conference; FPSO World Congress; and University sponsored events including Texas A&M University and University of Houston.

OIL & GAS CONFERENCE BOARD MEMBER - Curtis is a current member of Topsides, Platforms & Hulls Advisory Board. He served as the Advisory Board Chairman in 2017. This conference is produced by PennWell and held annually in February. He previously served as advisory board member and chairman of FPSO World Congress produced by IQPC with conferences held annually in Singapore, London, and Houston.

EDUCATION:
Curtis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Ocean Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from the University of Houston. He has a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University.
