BOE Exploration & Production (Beacon) is the Operator of the Shenandoah Project here in the Gulf of Mexico. Beacon took over the project in recent years and fast-tracked the project to FID by August 2021. In order to achieve this schedule and continue to deliver a fit-for-purpose Floating Production System (FPS), Beacon took the approach of using proven designs where practical. A lean project team had to start from scratch in many cases, but used industry norms and practices to materialize the FPS strategy, contract, and execution quickly. This was all done through COVID times initially and continues through times of international conflict, supply chain woes, and the “super-cycles” that have followed.
